Meet the Trail Committee Team:
Jeannette richter- chairperson
The view is long to the Rockies on the west, to the far horizon on the east. The sky is high and blue; the air pure and still except for the wind and bird song.
I see a beautiful prairie trail here where families can walk, mothers can push strollers and children can safely ride their bikes to school and to visit friends.
TransCanada Trail and Alberta TrailNet have promised us funding to construct the bridges and culvert over the water courses thus connecting the broken parts of the existing railbed into a 10km continuous trail between Beiseker and Irricana.
I am an educator, writer, farm-wife and marathoner

Dave Fegan - TREASURER
Former Mayor, Pharmacist
We moved to Beiseker in 1979 and started Beiseker Pharmacy. Our family of six became active in community sports and volunteerism. We helped organize various recreational activities. After the railway between Beiseker and Irricana was abandoned thoughts to trail development increased. As mayor during some of these years we were always looking for increased recreational opportunities and trail development became a goal. We are excited about Meadowlark Trail.

iris balson - Secretary
I have lived in the Beiseker - Irricana area since 1993. I like to bike, hike and walk. In the winter I enjoy cross country skiing.
I support the Meadowlark Trail because it will provide affordable exercise and recreational opportunities for the residents of Beiseker and Irricana. The trail will allow all ages to enjoy the outdoors and there are physical and mental health benefits.

I have lived in Irricana for 37 years and have enjoyed hiking and biking in the area also on several "trail-net" trails in Canada and the United States. I am excited to have a similar trail in our own community for myself and all the active nature lovers to enjoy.
heidi hagel - Public Relations
I’m a nurse, farm-wife, and mother to two elementary aged kids. I look forward to completing this trail so planning a safe family bike ride will only be minutes away instead of a 45 min-1hr drive to access a trail built in another community.
grace martin
I am a local business owner and active community volunteer. I have been a resident of Irricana and very recently, Beiseker for over 24 years. I am an avid hiker and am excited about the prospect of having this trail connecting the 2 communities both from a community standpoint and fitness opportunity perspective.
annette culp - Grants Application Officer
Annette Culp here. I am an advocate of inter-municipal co-operation to further community amenities. Small municipalities have limited resources so it makes sense to search out partnerships regionally to expand recreational opportunities. My background in municipal government administration has hopefully provided the society with assistance in organizing a concept into reality.
brenda Jean campbell
Brenda is an avid trail supporter as she has enjoyed hiking all her life. She encourages it as an inexpensive and healthy way to embrace physical activity and way to spend quality time with friends and family. Having an accessible trail for kids and adults alike, to enjoy close to home, is of utmost importance for a healthy life. Nothing beats walking to enjoy all the nuances of mother nature. Seeing colourful flowers, trees, birds, and animals, and all the amazing scents and sounds that come with those, is probably one of Brenda's favourite things in life.

allan metzger - webMASTER
With my family, we enjoy hiking and outdoor activities in our greater backyard that is Alberta. Growing up in the Beiseker community and having lived in Irricana for a number of years, I have perspective from both ends of the trail. I will put my personal and professional experience to use throughout the development of the trail.
